Leadership will improve if the leader is good, but poor leadership will fail. The failed leadership in military affairs will cause a loss of many lives. In State leadership also, a good leadership will help develop the country whereas poor leadership can cause losses to the country. So, we must always try hard to become good leaders, said Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing in meeting with professors,senior officer lecturers, senior officer tutors, senior officer trainees and doctoral medical officers from the Defence Services Academy, Defence Services Technological Academy, law diploma (officer) course and local defence services hospitals at the convocation hall of Defence Services Academy in PyinOoLwin this morning.
Also present at the meeting were Commander-in-Chief (Navy) Admiral Tin Aung San, Commander-in-Chief (Air) General Maung Maung Kyaw, senior military officers from the Office of the Commander-in-Chief, Commander of Central Command Maj-Gen Kyaw Swa Lin, officials, officer instructors, senior officer trainees and doctoral medical officers from the academies and schools.
Speaking on the occasion, the Senior General said as the role of military leaders is crucial, respective military schools need to turn out physically and mentally skillful leaders who are efficient in their respective branches of study. Only if leaders constantly learn, train and follow orders, will they be able to promote the image of their organization under correct leadership. Leadership is not related to age but based on consideration and wisdom. Being physically and mentally skillful, military leaders must be able to manage any welfare and administrative affairs of their organizations such as economy,social, health, education and security affairs.
Then, the Senior General said that good leadership will bear improvement and bad leadership will cause loss. If leadership of the leader in the military affairs is poor, it causes many losses of life. Likewise,State leader is good in leadership, the country will develop. If leadership of the State is poor, the country will face loss.As such, the Senior General urged all always to strive to become good leaders.The leader must always take care with conscience and consideration. Head of the household must have capacity to manage the family. It needs to be a head of household for taking pride of his family as well as a good leader for his society.The Senior General stressed the need to carry out welfare and solve social difficulties for officers, other ranks and families of regiments and units they lead. As every family may face worries, leader should remove these worries and comfort the family members. The Tatmadaw manages efficient use of time. Individual soldier has rights of reporting to superior levels. They have chances to correctly and bravely report their difficulties to superiors and submit their wishes at the desire presentation ceremonies.So also, officials at different levels should correctly solve these problems as part of practising democracy in military units in a systematic manner.
The Senior General continued to say that as leader is important in any organization,they have to always build themselves to have high capacity. He stressed the need to strive for improving their qualification to become the reliable leaders of their organizations.They must build themselves with maturity based on their experiences. It needs to avoid self-indulgence and not to indulge their subordinates. It needs to abide by four points to go to suitable places, amalgamate suitable persons, do suitable works and speak suitable talks. Good and bad effects of an organization much depend on the leader. Hence, leaders must always study arts and knowledge to be able to manage themselves and their organizations to have unity and development.In so doing, they should systematically supervise the organizations to have suitable one and not to cause unsuitable ones. The Senior General urged them to make individual improvement for ensuring betterment of their military units, the Tatmadaw and the State.
