Families of the Office of the Commander-in-Chief(Army, Navy and Air), military command headquarters hold second monsoon tree-planting ceremonies

Families of the Office of the Commander-in-Chief (Army,Navy and Air) and military command headquarters have been holding ceremonies to grow trees collectively since 2011 with the aim of conserving the environment,facilitating weather patterns,providing shade and helping improve national economy.Families of the Office of the Commander-in-Chief (Army,Navy and Air) held the second monsoon tree-planting ceremony for 2019 today, and Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing attended the ceremony and planted a tree.
The ceremony was also attended by the Senior General’s wife Daw Kyu Kyu Hla, Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services,Commander-in-Chief(Army) Vice-Senior General Soe Win and wife Daw Than Than Nwe, the Union Minister for Defence, the Union Minister for Border Affairs and wife, the Chief of the General Staff (Army, Navy and Air) and wife, the Commander-in-Chief (Navy) and wife, the Commander-in-Chief (Air) and wife, senior military officers from the Office of the Commander-in-Chief and wives, the commander of Nay Pyi Taw Command and wife, senior officer trainees from National Defence College, officers and other ranks from offices and departments under the Office of the Commander-in-Chief(Army, Navy and Air) and their families.
First, the Senior General and wife planted a teak tree.Next, the Vice-Senior General and wife, Union Ministers and wives, senior military officers from the Office of the Commander-in-Chief and wives and officers, other ranks and their families collectively planted teak,Padauk, Mahawgani and acacia mangium trees in designated places.
Then, the Senior General and party encouraged the officers, other ranks and their families collectively growing trees. A total of 4,500 plants,including 330 teak plants, 1,215 Padauk plants, 1,823 Mahawgani plants and 1,132 acacia mangium have been grown in the second monsoon tree-growing ceremony organized by families of Tatmadaw(Army, Navy and Air)for 2019. In an attempt to conserve natural environment and maintain ecosystem around Yezin Dam, the Office of the Commander-in-Chief(Army) grew a total of 146,283 plants, including teak, perennial trees and windbreaks between 2011 and 2019.
Likewise, ceremonies to plant collective row of trees were also held in each military command headquarters for the second time this morning in which officers and other ranks and their families took part in the collective treeplanting campaigns. Today,a total of 394,101 plants of teak, perennial trees and windbreaks were grown by the entire Tatmadaw,including 17,322 plants in Nay Pyi Taw Command,24,255 plants in Northern Command, 14,620 plants in North-East Command, 25,000 plants in Eastern Command, 65,287 plants in Central-East Command, 30,120 plants in Triangle Region Command, 19,870 plants in South-East Command, 28,694 plants in Coastal Region Command,31,575 plants in Yangon Command, 21,860 plants in South-West Command, 8,684 plants in Western Command,22,112 plants in North-West Command, 36,120 plants in Central Command, and 44,082 plants in Southern Command.
