Vice-Senior General Soe Win receives Chinese Ambassador

Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Commander-in-Chief (Army) Vice-Senior General Soe Win received Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Myanmar H.E. Mr. Chen Hai, at Bayintnaung Parlour in Nay Pyi Taw this evening.

Also present at the call together with Vice-Senior General Soe Win were senior military officers of the Office of Commander-in-Chief (Army), and the Chinese Ambassador was accompanied by the military attaché and embassy officials.

The two sides discussed promotion of friendship between armed forces of two countries, exchange of goodwill visits, cooperation in health sector as well as in prevention of illegal border crossing, smuggling of goods and production and smuggling of illicit drugs; and repatriation process of displaced persons to Rakhine State, and potential for peace talks with ethnic armed organizations for eternal peace.

The Vice-Senior General and the Chinese ambassador posed together with those present for documentary photo after the meeting.
