Lashio-Hsenwi-Kunglon Union Highway back into service

Mantongsun Bridge, 31st Mile Bridge at the exit of Narte Village, and 41st-mile Reinforced Concrete Bridge (Byonetaung) on Hsenwi-Namhsalet-Kunglon motor road in Hsenwi and Kunglon townships were blown up by AA, TNLA and MNDAA insurgents on 16 and 17 August, and that resulted in disruption of communication.
With security provided by Tatmadaw columns, Tatmadawmen of local military engineering unit repaired the bridges day and night, despite attacks by insurgents, in order to restore communication links and provide convenient transportation for local people in the region. Mantongsun Bridge was repaired to be a one-layer, one-floor bailey bridge on 19 August, and 41st-mile Reinforced Concrete Bridge (Byonetaung) was repaired to be a threelayer,one-floor bailey bridge from 21 August to today. And 31st-Mile Bridge at the exit of Narte Village was also repaired. Therefore, vehicles,big and small, have started to use Lashio-Hsenwi-Kunglon Union Highway as of today.
Moreover, as Tatmadaw columns could implement regional security works along Kutkai-Namphatkar road section, 123 big and small vehicles stuck on the road can use the road as of today, and the road section from Lashio to Namphatkar can now be used safely, and regional security works continue to ensure safety along Namphatkar-Muse road session.
While the Tatmadaw is repairing bridges to restore communications and provide convenient transportation for local people in the region,insurgents launched attacks to disrupt the roadworks on 23 August. However,as Tatmadaw managed to repair roads and bridges in short time and improve road security, roads are now back into service. Tatmadaw is providing transportation security day and night.
