Insurgents shoot, ablaze vehicles again on Mandalay-Lashio-Muse Union Highway without any reason

Insurgents from AA, TNLA and MNDAA are committing terrorist acts in Shan State (North) such as blasting bridges on Mandalay-Lashio-Hsenwi-Kutkai-Muse Union Highway and Hsenwi-Kunglon-Laukkai Road and shooting and setting fire to small and large vehicles without any reasons.
The insurgents fired small weapons at three 12-wheeled trucks on the Highway at about 1,000 metres from the west of Honaung Village,Kutkai Township, at about 8 am on 3 September, blocked the road and collected extortion. A Tatmadaw column on regional security duty rushed to the scene, and fighting broke out forcing the insurgents to retreat to the southeastern part.
Those insurgents came to the Union Highway at about 7 pm,blazed four 10-wheeled trucks loaded with goods, one Hijet, one AD van and one Super Custom en route from Namtphatkar to Kutkai at about 1,000 metres from the north of Namkut Village and blocked the road.
Since the incident on 15 August,the insurgents have set fire to vehicles running along the Union Highway and blocked them four times, destroying 14 small and large cars and one motorbike.
The Tatmadaw is continuing its regional stability and security measures along the Union Highway for the safe travel of people.
