Vice-Senior General Soe Win receives Ms. Christine Schraner Burgener, UNSG’s Special Envoy on Myanmar

Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Commander-in-Chief (Army) Vice-Senior General Soe Win received a delegation led by Ms. Christine Schraner Burgener,the United Nations Secretary General’s Special Envoy on Myanmar,at the Parlour of Bayintnaung Villa,here, this morning.
At the meeting, they cordially discussed ongoing processes of the government and the Tatmadaw for achieving eternal peace under the peace procedures, preparations of Myanmar to accept those who left their homes in Rakhine State by taking full security measures,situation to establish the court-martial for investigating the incidents in Buthidaung and Maungtaw regions of Rakhine State in accordance with the law, and observing the existing laws by servicemen in discharging duty.
Also present at the meeting together with the Vice-Senior General were Judge Advocate General Lt-Gen Aung Lin Dwe and senior military officers from the Office of the Commander-in-Chief (Army).The UNSG’s Special Envoy on Myanmar was accompanied by officials.
