Myanmar Tatmadaw delegation visits Varanasi,Gaya

The Myanmar Tatmadaw delegation led by Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Commander-in-Chief (Army) Vice-Senior General Soe Win who were in India on a goodwill visit left New Delhi by special flight of Indian Armed Forces at 7.55 am local standard time on 19 September and arrived in Varanasi at 9.15 am.

The delegation was welcomed by Commandant of No (39) Gorakha Training Center in Varanasi Brigadier HS Bainsla, SM and wife. Next, the delegation went and paid homage to the Chaukhandi Stupa in Varanasi where the Lord Buddha was accorded welcome by the Five Pancavaggis.

Then, the Vice-Senior General and delegation went to Sarnath and paid homage to Dhamma Rajika Stupa and Dhamaykha Stupa where the Lord Buddha delivered Dhammacakka to the Five Pancavaggis.

Later, the delegation left Varanasi Airport by special flight of Indian Armed Forces for Gaya and arrived at Royal Residency Hotel where they would be staying at 1.45 pm local standard time.
