Friendly football, Sepak Takraw matches held between Myanmar Tatmadaw and Lao People's Armed Forces

A friendly football match between Myanmar Tatmadaw football team and Lao People's Armed Forces football team took place at Zeyathiri Tatmadaw sports ground in Nay Pyi Taw this evening.

Among the spectators were Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Commander-in-Chief(Anny)Vice-Senior General Soe Win and wife Daw Than Than Nwe, Chief of the General Staff (Army, Navy and Air) General Mya Tun Oo and wife Daw Thet Thet Aung, senior military officers from the Office of the Commander-in-Chief(Army),Brigadier General PHANSENG BOUNPHANH and senior officers from Lao People's Armed Forces,officers and other ranks from the Office ofthe Commander-in-Chief(Army, Navy and Air) and their families, officers, other ranks and their families from the stations of Nay Pyi Taw Command Headquarters and trainees from Tatmadaw Football Academy.

The players and referees from the two teams entered the sports ground and saluted the senior military officers and guests. Tatmadaw Sports and Physical Education Administrative Board Chairman Adjutant General Lt-Gen Myo ZawThein, Nay Pyi Taw Command Commander Maj-Gen Myint Maw and Brigadier GeneralPHANSENG BOUNPHANH greeted the players from both sides.

Then, the friendly event started.At the 27 minutes, Souksavanh Somsanith wearing No.7 jersey secured an opening goal. After the first half, Lao team led with 1-0.Kaung Sithu who was wearing No. 10 jersey from Myanmar Tatmadaw football squad gave an equalizer from the penalty granted by the referee as the player from the football squad of Lao People's Armed Forces committed foul in the penalty area at the 48.30 minutes of the second half. Next, Myanmar Tatmadaw football squad geared up its attacking momentum through good play pattern. At the 66th minute, Kaung Sithu added a winning gold for Myanmar Tatmadaw football squad. At the 81.50 minutes and the 88 minutes, Min Ko Thu wearing No. 18 jersey scored two winning goals in a row. The football squad of Lao People's Armed Forces tried hard to see equalizers in the injury time after the 90 minutes. Captain Phouthone Innalay wearing No. 23 jersey scored an equalizer from the penalty given by the referee as the Myanmar defender badly cleared the ball in the penalty area. At the stoppage time, Myanmar Tatmadaw football squad won football squad of Lao People's Armed Forces with 4-2.The football squad of Lao People's Armed Forces lost to Myanmar Tatmadaw football squad because the former could play well against the latter without decreasing tempo from start to end but it lost goal chances due to misunderstanding among the players.

Moreover, the Sepak Takraw of Myanmar Tatmadaw played the friendly event against the Sepak Takraw of Lao People's Armed Forces at Zeyathiri Tatmadaw Stadium-C.In Regu, Myanmar beat Lao 2-0 and 2-1 in four players (quadrant).

Among the spectators at the friendly Sepak Takraw were Adjutant General Lt-Gen Myo Zaw Thein,Chairman of Tatmadaw Sports and Physical Education Administrative Board, Nay Pyi Taw Commander Maj-Gen Myint Maw, Brigadier General PHANSENG BOUNPHANH and officers of Lao People's Armed Forces, U Soe Naing,President of Myanmar Sepak Takraw and Chinlone Federation and sports enthusiasts.
