Heavy weapon round fired by AA terrorists hits the compound of primary school in Khamechaung Village in Buthidaung, injuring students

As a Tatmadaw column discharging regional security duties in Buthidaung Township, Rakhine State came under heavy and light weapon attack of AA terrorists about 2,000 metre southeast of Oaktaung Village at 8 am today, members of the Tatmadaw exchanged fire with the terrorists, forcing them to retreat to 1,200 metre south of Khamechaung Village.
The Tatmadaw column pursued the AA terrorists, they fired heavy weapons at the Tatmadaw column and a heavy weapon round hit and exploded in the compound of the primary school of Khamechaung Village, injuring 14 boys and 6 girls totalling 20 students playing in the compound.
After the injured students were treated at the clinic of local battalion and 5 of them were sent to Buthidaung People’s Hospital. Senior military officers from Buthidaung station visited the students and fulfilled the requirements.
