More narcotic drugs worth Ks-24 billion, arms and ammunition seized in Lwekham Village, Kutkai Township

Security troops continuously take security measures and searching around Kaungkha and Lwekham villages in Kutkai Township of Shan State (North) regarding the seizures of narcotic drugs, materials used in producing drugs and related precursors worth more than Ks-103 billion from 28 February to 7 March.

At about 7.30 am today, 780,000 pink stimulant tablets with 88/1 label, 330,000 pink stimulant tablets with WY label, 198 soap cases of heroin weighing 10 grams each (1,980 grams), 12 blocks of heroin (4,000 grams), about eight kilograms of ICE, about 16 kilos of opium extract crystal and about 75,000 grams of morphine powder (total estimated value of more than Ks-4 billion) from a building in Lwekham Village,  owned by U Yaw Hsi who evaded from Shaukhaw Village in Kutkai Township.

As security troops continued search around the site, they seized 2,016,000 pink stimulant tablets with 88/1 label, 220 soap cases of heroin weighing 10 grams each (2,200 grams), about seven kilograms of ICE, about 10 kilograms of raw opium and about 100,000 grams of morphine powder (total estimated value of more than Ks-7 billion) from the basement and ceiling of a building combined with the kitchen and car godown owned by U Yan En Chan who evaded from Namkhike Village in Hsenwi Township at about 11 am today.

Likewise, a total of 835,000 stimulant tablets with various brands, three blocks of heroin (1,000 grams), about 23 kilograms of ICE, four tablet pressing sticks (total estimated value of more than Ks-2 billion), two pistols and its two magazines were seized from a building and a garage owned by U Cha Kwe En who evaded from Lwekham Village in Kutkai Township at about 1 pm.

When searching round the area, security forces found two pistols, two rifles, 2,319 rounds of assorted bullets, two grenades, 14 magazines on the ceiling of the house of U Gyan Ywe Khin, son of U Gyan Ywe Shin, who have been fleeing from Namkhike Village in Hsenwi Township, at about 3 pm and seized 5,300,000 orange stimulant tablets bearing WY label, 462,000 pink stimulant tablets bearing 88/1 label, 1,045 heroin powder in soap cases, each of which weighs 10 grams (1,0450 grams), about 1,200 grams of morphine powder (total estimated value of over Ks-11 billion) and a 6-wheel truck.

During the period from 28 February to today, members of security forces seized 53,641,000 stimulant tablets of various kinds, 189,980 grams of heroin, 271,000 grams of morphine, 1.6 kilograms of heroin blocks, 16 kilograms of opium extract crystal, 2,650 grams of stimulant tablet powder, 10 kilograms of raw opium and 365.5  kilograms of ICE totally worth about Ks-130 billion including over Ks-128 billion for narcotic drugs and over Ks-1 billion for 109 kinds of equipment used in narcotic drug production and precursor chemicals.

Concerning the seizures of narcotic drugs, weapons and ammunition, measures will be taken to arrest main culprits and those who involved in accordance with rules and regulations and security forces will conduct regional security measures and searches.
