Vice-Senior General Soe Win attends 3rd China-Myanmar Strategic Security Consultation in Beijing

The Myanmar Tatmadaw delegation led by Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Commander-in-Chief (Army) Vice-Senior General Soe Win, currently in Beijing of the People’s Republic of China, at the invitation of Deputy Chief of the Joint Staff Department of Central Military Commission of the Communist Party of China Lieutenant General Shao Yuanming, arrived at the Office for International Cooperation-OIMC under the Chinese Ministry of Defence at 2.45 pm local standard time on 15 November to attend the 3rd China-Myanmar Strategic Security Consultation. The delegation was welcomed by Deputy Chief of Joint Staff Lieutenant General Shao Yuanming.

The meeting then started and both sides discussed and exchanged views on the relations between the Republic of the Union of Myanmar and the People’s Republic of China, strengthening of the relations and cooperation between the two armed forces, peace and stability in border area, regional and international situations, military training affairs and Myanmar’s reacceptance of 2,260 Bengalis on 15 November 2018.

In the evening, Deputy Chief of Joint Staff Lieutenant General Shao Yuanming hosted a dinner in honour of Vice-Senior General Soe Win and delegation members.

After the dinner, the Vice-Senior General and the Deputy Chief of Joint Staff exchanged commemorative emblems and gifts.
