Myanmar Tatmadaw goodwill delegation led by Vice-Senior General Soe Win visits Xang Hai Village and Than Ting Cave, arrives back from LPDR

Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Commander-in-Chief(Army) Vice-Senior General Soe Win and party, who were in Lao Peoples' Democratic Republic on a goodwill visit, went to Xang Hai Village producing traditional handicrafts this morning and Than Ting Cave by ship in Mekong River this afternoon. They were conducted there round by officials. Xang Hai Village is 17 kilometers from Luang Prabang. It takes about one hour by water. Having 75 homes,the whole village as a tourist attraction shows its skills such as weaving traditional Lao clothes and making alcohol in order to attract foreign tourists. Than Ting Cave,25 kilometers from Luang Prabang, can be reached by taking a 1.30-hour boat ride. It also serves as a tourist attraction. Lao people visit the cave in all seasons as they believe that keeping the Buddha images made of day-wise woods similar to donors there can propagate the Sasana and promote their longevity, health and economy. There is also Mekong river-crossing bridge linking China and Laos, which is under construction. The bridge is due to open in 2022.
The Vice-Senior General and party left Luang Prabang International Airport in the afternoon. At the airport, they were seen off by Head of Office of Luang Prabang Province Military Region Headquarters Lieutenant Colonel Vilai Sin Mid Taphon,Myanmar Military Attaché (Army, Navy and Air) Brig-Gen Kyaw Soe Min and officials.
The Tatmadaw goodwill delegation led by the Vice-Senior General arrived back at Nay Pyi Taw International Airport in the evening. They were welcomed back there by Chief of the General Staff (Army, Navy and Air) General Mya Tun Oo and wife,senior military officers from the Office of the Commander-in-Chief and their wives, the Nay Pyi Taw Command commander, Deputy Head of Lao Embassy to Myanmar Mr.Somphay WONGMAHCHAK and officials.
Daw Than Than Nwe, wife of the ViceSenior General, and senior military officers from the Office ofthe Commander-in-Chief(Army) who accompanied the Vice-Senior General also arrived back on the same flight.
