Tatmadaw donates drugs supporting treatment of COVID-19 disease to hospitals in border towns

Chloroquine which is used in treatment of malaria disease is useful in giving treatment to COVID-19 patients in some countries (China, Australia, United States of America, Spain, Norway and Thailand) where Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) breaks out.
Chloroquine is used by the Tatmadaw as one of the drugs in treatment for malaria disease. Hence, Chloroquine, stored as reserve at the Tatmadaw hospitals in respective military commands, was donated to hospitals in border towns of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar today.
In this regard, commanders of military commands and senior military officers donated Chloroquine to the people’s hospitals in Lwejel and Kanpaiktee towns in the area of Northern Command, people's hospitals in Lashio, Laukkai, Chinshwehaw, Muse and Namkham towns in the area of North-East Command, the people’s hospital in Loikaw in the area of Eastern Command, people's hospitals in Tachilek and Monghsat towns in the area of Triangle Region Command, people's hospitals in Phayathonzu and Myawady towns in the area of South-East Command and local health staff in Htikhee, Mawtawng regions and Kawthoung Township in the area of Coastal Region Command respectively.
