Suffering heavy losses in military terms due to counter terrorism operations of the Tatmadaw during the operations in Paletwa area and at point 114 near Minbya’s Ramong Bridge and trying to check the tide of desertion due to low morale of troops under their control, about 100 AA terrorists launched an attack on the main camp of Thazinmyaing Police outpost, which is not only weaker but also the law enforcement agency of the state, in force at about 2.10 am this morning with heavy and small arms. Members of the police, despite relentlessly resisting the attack, had to give in to the disproportionate use of force at about 5 am and were forced to join forces in an outer security post from the main camp, leaving some members of the police and families missing. Members of the police and columns of the Tatmadaw are providing reinforcement to the police outpost as soon as possible.
AA terrorists are launching attacks on the police outposts responsible for the rule of law, stability of communities and protection of lives and property of the public including attacks on four police stations in Kahtila, Ngamyinbaw, Guppi and Kyaungtaung police posts in Buthidaung Township on 4 January 2019, Yoetayok police outpost in Ponnagyun Township on 9 March, the police battalion headquarters in Myauk-U on 10 April and Nyaungchaung Police outpost in Buthidaung Township on 16 July, killing 25 members of the police and injuring 16 members of the police and detaining some members of the police and their families including children.
AA terrorists are committing war crimes by targeting police outposts and police members. Effective counter terrorism operations will be launched against AA terrorists who are committing disruptive acts against the rule of law of the State, smooth transportation and community peace repeatedly.
